Notes in ChurnZero allow you to create rich text note cards with information on your accounts and contacts. Notes can be found in your account and contact profiles. You can take notes on your accounts and contacts, then save them for future reference. As you're working on your notes you can expand or minimize the note, move it to different places on your screen, and more. In this article, we'll take a look at some of the basics of notes in ChurnZero and the ways you can interact with them.
For more information on creating and editing notes, please see: Creating and Managing Notes.
Notes Basics:
Before you get started with notes, there are a couple of things you should know about them:
- You can only have one note open at a time. You can create as many notes as you want, but only one can be opened and on-screen.
-
Notes save content automatically. Any changes you make will automatically save every few seconds. If you accidentally close your note, close your browser, or log out, your note saves as a draft and you can pick up right where you left off. (You can see when the last save occurred in the timestamp at the bottom left.)
Note: To make sure your Notes can sync with your CRM, autosave will pause if your note exceeds 65,536 characters. If this happens, all you need to do to resume autosave is to delete the excess characters. - Notes are "drafts" until you publish them. Draft notes can be found in the Upcoming tab of your timeline, while published notes can be seen in the History tab.
- Draft notes are visible only to the person who created them. Published notes are visible to anyone who can see the account or contact profile page.
- Published notes can be edited, but they cannot be reverted back to the "draft" state. Only one person can work on a note at a time. If someone else is working on a note that you try to edit, you'll receive an alert to let you know you cannot work on the note at that time.
Moving The Notes Editor:
When you create a note, the note editor appears at the bottom of your screen. If you want to keep working on the note but want to move it out of your way for now, you can click the Minimize icon to collapse the note into a tab at the bottom of your screen.
If you want to see something on the screen underneath the note editor (or would just prefer the note to appear in a different section of your screen), you can move it to the left or right with the Move icon.
You can make your note take center stage using the Expand button.
This will move your note from the bottom of your screen to the middle of it in a larger pop-up window. To move the note back to its original size, click the Collapse button.
