Connected fields are fields that are present on an integrated data table. A good example of this is the account or contact fields in your CRM that you want to see in ChurnZero.
You can also create fields that exist only in ChurnZero. For more information, see Adding ChurnZero Fields.
To add a connected field:
- Go to Data > Custom Fields, then click on the connected table you want to edit.
- From the Edit Connected Table page, click the Create Field button and select Connected Field.
- The Create Connected Fields popup appears. This shows you all fields that ChurnZero has access to for that object. You can use the search box to find a specific field or use the scroll bar to browse the list.
- This list only shows fields that have not already been added as connected fields. If you don't see the field you're looking for, it may already be added. You can also check your connected system settings within the system's application to see if you have access to that field.
- Use the checkboxes to the left of the field name to add that field to the list.
- Edit your connected field(s).
Please note that you will not be able to edit the Connected name, Connected field name, or Type. You can, however, edit the following fields:- Name: Edit the name of the field if you want the name to differ from the connected system display name. (The "Connected Name" shows you the field label in your connected system.)
- Visible: Determines if the field will be visible on the account/contact profile or for use in column sets.
- Filterable: Determines if the field will be available to use within segment filters.
-
Editable: Determines if the field will be editable. If set to "Yes," you will see two more options appear:
- Editable by User: Allows ChurnZero users to edit this field using the "edit" function in an Account/Contact profile.
- Editable by Play: Allows the field to be edited through the "Update Account" or "Update Contact" play step.
- Sync Direction: You can set how the field will sync between ChurnZero and your CRM.
- Click the Save button.
