Success Plans are customizable, strategic project documents made up of measurable goals and the actions needed to pursue them. Plans are unique for each account, allowing you and your customers to work together toward a specific plan for success.
To create a new Success Plan:
- On the account profile, go to the Success Plans tab, then click Create Plan.
- Or go to the Create menu and select Create Success Plan.
- Or go to the Create menu and select Create Success Plan.
- In the Create Success Plan window, fill out the following fields:
- Plan name: Create a name for your Success Plan. This should help to distinguish the plan from any other plans listed on the account profile, so we recommend making it clear and distinctive.
- Plan owner: Use the dropdown to assign an owner based on the user account, role, or role manager. The plan owner must have the account in their domain.
-
Plan type: If an admin user has created multiple plan types, you can select from those plan types using the dropdown.
- Plan types are used for organizational purposes and allow you to find all accounts with an "Quarterly" type Success Plan, for example.
- Due date: Set the date by which the plan should be completed. This step is optional and can be updated or added later.
- Click the Create button.
- Your new plan appears. At the top of the screen, you can see some summary information. On the lower half of your screen, you'll see a space for your goals and plan summary.
- All plans begin in the "Not Started" status upon creation. These states can only move forward, not backward. This means that plans cannot return to a previous state once you move them forward. (ex., "Closed" plans cannot move back to "In Progress" or "Not Started.") Plans can have the following statuses:
- Not Started: The plan is in a draft state. Notifications will not fire and segments based on the plan will not run. All goals and steps can be fully edited, but goals cannot transition to other statuses.
- In Progress: The plan is active. Notifications will be sent and segments will run. Dates can be shown as "overdue." Goals can transition status and be edited, added, and have steps created under them. In-progress goals can be achieved.
- Closed: The plan has come to an end. Notifications are no longer sent, segments no longer run, and goals can no longer be fully edited, added, or achieved.
