Create Plays Using Templates

The preconfigured templates found in the Launchpad help you streamline your workflows! There are a couple of different ways to get started. You can use the Launchpad navigation button on the left-side navigation panel, or you can choose Create > From Template as you start a new play. However you choose to get started with your Launchpad template, there are some important things to know:

• All fields normally required for a play to go active are still required. Some of these may be filled in from the template, but you should always check your fields before activating your play.
• Saving a play as active removes all template instructions. Instructions cannot be recovered unless you start a new play from the same template.

From your play: 

1. When you click the Create button, you'll see two options: From Template or From Scratch. Select From Template to open the Launchpad.
    
   (If you want to start a new play without a template, you can select From Scratch to open the play configuration page.)
2. Once you find the configuration that you think will work best for you, click the Use This Play button.
   
3. A new play or journey will load with the configuration applied. As you move through creation, you'll see helpful information attached to steps, including links to more resources. These tips, tricks, and best practices will remain until you make your play active.
4. You can customize all information in the template configuration except for Target and Frequency.
   • Remember, the play is not ready to go active as soon as you load up the template! You must add your own information, like segments and other details. Think of the templates as a foundation there to support you while you build up the rest of your play.

From Launchpad:

1. From the left-side navigation bar, select Launchpad. 
2. Use the search options to filter your results. We'll start with two, but you can create more specific searches according to your needs.

• Select Editions: This narrows down your results to templates that are compatible with your edition of ChurnZero.
  • Select Types: This allows you to specify if you want to see all templates or just templates for plays or journeys. Click the checkmark beside Plays to see only play templates.

1. Browse the template cards to find the one that works best for your needs. You can continue to filter results using the search options. (For example, you can narrow down results to templates focused on renewals with the Select Use Case(s) dropdown.)
2. Click View Details to see more information about the template.
3. Click Use This Play to create a new play with the configuration applied.
4. You can customize all information in the template configuration except for Target and Frequency.
