ChurnZero fields live on the object in ChurnZero only. For example, if you're connected to Salesforce, a ChurnZero field added at the account level will not sync back to Salesforce. ChurnZero fields are great for information that you don't want to sync back to your CRM, or for ChurnZero-only tables.
To add a ChurnZero field:
- Go to Data > Custom Fields, then click on the table you want to edit.
- From the Edit ChurnZero Table page, click the Create Field button, then select ChurnZero Field.
- In the Create ChurnZero Field window, enter the information you want to apply to your ChurnZero field.
- In the Basic Information section:
- Name: Enter the display name for the field.
- Helper text: Helper text is informational text (like a tooltip) that displays on hover in pages and modals. Add any helper text you want to include.
- Type: Choose the type of field you want to create. Please note that, once this is saved, you cannot change the field type. For more information on field types, please see the Custom Field Types Guide.
- In the Field Settings section:
- Visible: Determines if the field will be visible on the account/contact profile or for use in column sets.
- Filterable: Determines if the field will be available within segment filters.
-
Editable: Determines if the field will be editable. If set to "Yes," you will see two more options appear:
- Editable by User: Allows ChurnZero users to edit this field using the "edit" function in an account/contact profile.
- Editable by Play: Allows the field to be edited through the "Update Account" or "Update Contact" play step.
- In the Advanced Settings section:
- Default Value: If appropriate for your specific field, you can add a default value here.
- Override CSV Import Column Name: You can choose to override the column name when importing from CSV. Please note that spaces, dashes, and underscores will automatically be removed from the value you enter.
- Click the Save button.
- In the Basic Information section:
Note: Any field included solely in a Churnzero-only Custom Table can be made "required." If the table is connected to any of our integrations, only Reference fields can be made required.
