What is domain authentication?
Domain authentication shows email providers that ChurnZero has your permission to send emails on your behalf. To give us permission, we will generate CNAME records from our email delivery service (SendGrid) for you to add to your DNS Host (like GoDaddy, Rackspace, or Cloudflare). Once you do this, your recipients will no longer see the “via churnzero.net” message on your emails.
Though this is a small change from your recipients' perspective, this change has a significant positive impact on your reputation as a sender and your email deliverability. Email service providers distrust messages that don’t have domain authentication set up because they can not be sure that the message really comes from you. Explicitly stating that it comes from you increases your reputation with email service providers, making it much less likely that they will block your messages from making it to your recipients' inboxes. You are also explicitly showing your recipients that this email comes from you, so they are less likely to mark your mail as Spam.
Steps to Set Up Domain Authentication
- Let ChurnZero know you are interested in setting up Domain Authentication along with the name of your DNS Provider. You can either reach out to your Customer Success Manager or email support.
- We will forward you an email from SendGrid. Click"View DNS Records & Instructions". This will provide you the list of DNS records for you to add on your domain service provider site (you may need help from someone on your IT Team). Follow the instructions on the following page.
- Let ChurnZero know when this is done on your end, and we will complete the process.
- You're all set! Enjoy the rewards of a strong sending reputation and better deliverability!
