Sync failure notifications can help you keep track of any problems your integrations may run into while passing information. Syncs with a third party and ChurnZero can fail for a number of reasons (like API rate limits or errors in connected fields). Notifications will go out to recipients with more information on the specific error your integration has encountered. For more information on error types and steps you can take to troubleshoot: Integration Sync Failure Troubleshooting.
NOTE: Integration sync failure notifications are only for integrations as a whole. They do not provide information on individual record sync failures.
To create a new notification:
- In the Admin space, go to the Integrations Hub.
- Click the Sync Failure Notifications tab.
- Click the Create button.
- In the Notification Settings and Recipients section, set the following fields:
- Send Notifications: Flip the toggle to turn the notification send on or off. The toggle is set to On by default, meaning it is ready to send as soon as you click Save. (In other words, notifications go out at the first sync failure after the notification has been created and saved.)
- Name: The name of the notification. This is the name you'll see on the list view in your Sync Failure Notifications tab.
-
Integration: Choose the integration for which you want to create a sync failure notification. This list will only contain integrations that you have already configured.
- NOTE: Some integrations don't have a regular sync schedule that would allow for failures, so they will not be available in this list. This includes Slack, Microsoft Teams, Amazon S3, and Segment.com.
-
Enter recipient email address: Enter the name of a ChurnZero user or type in an email address to set notification recipients.
- NOTE: You can also send notifications to Slack using the "Send Emails to Slack" feature. For more information, please see the Slack Help Center. A similar feature is also available for Microsoft Teams. More information can be found in the Microsoft Support Center.
- In the Reminders section, use the dropdowns and selectors to set the schedule for notification reminders. Your notification is always sent when the sync first fails, but we'll continue to send notifications as reminders until the failure is addressed. You can choose how often those reminders go out using the fields. (For example: Every weekday at 9:00am.)
- NOTE: All dates and times are shown in the user's timezone.
Notification Behavior:
If you have sync notifications enabled for a particular integration, you will receive notifications in the following scenarios:
- Immediately when a sync failure occurs.
- If a sync failure is not resolved, you will then receive a follow-up notification on the schedule set up in your sync failure notification settings.
- NOTE: For Salesforce, HubSpot, and Netsuite, which allow for Full and Partial Syncs to run at the same time, the reminder email will show both the full and partial sync failure reasons if they are failing for separate reasons.
- Upon successful run of a sync that had been failing, you will receive a notification letting you know that the sync failure has been resolved.
- NOTE: For Salesforce, HubSpot, and Netsuite, if both the full and partial syncs are failing, you will only receive a "Sync Successful" notification once both the full and partial syncs run successfully.
