When sending emails out of ChurnZero you have the ability to change the "Reply To" email. Meaning an email can come from success@marketingpony.com, but when a user clicks Reply, the email address in the to-line could be peter@marketingpony.com.
There are two main reasons why you may see this operate differently, and they are:
- Automatic Replies- Automatic replies like Out Of Office notifications will go to the sender of the email, and will not look at the "reply to" email address. This is controlled by the email client (like Outlook or Gmail). It is expected that automatic replies will be sent to the original sender.
- Manual Intervention- Some email recipients are observant enough that when they hit "Reply" they see that a different email address was populated in the to-line. Wanting to reply to the original sender, they will just manually add that email address to the to-line and respond back.
There is not much ChurnZero can do about the two edge cases stated above, but keep these in mind if you are using this feature and get some replies back to the original sender.
NOTE: The Reviewer of the message will still be the user listed in the "Send As" field, regardless of who is listed in the "Reply To" field.
